How will 5G affect our health?
Tolk Wellness Center takes a deeper look at the upcoming 5G technology on our health and wellness with a riveting Zoom webinar on June 23 from 11:30 to 12:30 PM EST with special guest speaker, Dr. Tracey Diner (Applied Kinesiologist, Researcher, and Founder of Magnetude Jewelry).

5G is expected to hit every American city by the year 2021. You’ll see 5G towers and mini stations everywhere, with some experts estimating that one tower will be needed for every two to eight houses. It’s pretty easy to imagine just how exponentially your exposure to RF radiation will rise when this happens.
What is 5G? 5G is next generation wireless network technology that’s expected to change the way people live and work. It will be faster and able to handle more connected devices than the existing 4G LTE network, improvements that will enable a wave of new kinds of tech products. 5G networks began rolling out in the United States and around the world in 2018 and are still in their early days, but experts say the potential is huge.
Of course, from a technological standpoint, 5G will make our lives run faster and more efficiently but what are the health implications? According to Medical News Today there are some great concerns. Let’s start by examining the EMFs (an electromagnetic field).
EMF is a field of energy that results from electromagnetic radiation, a form of energy that occurs as a result of the flow of electricity.
Electric fields exist wherever there are power lines or outlets, whether the electricity is switched on or not. Magnetic fields are created only when electric currents flow. Together, these produce EMFs.
Electromagnetic radiation exists as a spectrum of different wavelengths and frequencies, which are measured in hertz (Hz). This term denotes the number of cycles per second.
Power lines operate between 50 and 60 Hz, which is at the lower end of the spectrum. These low-frequency waves, together with radio waves, microwaves, infrared radiation, visible light, and some of the ultraviolet spectrum — which take us into the megahertz (MHz), GHz, and terahertz spectra — make up what is known as nonionizing radiation.
Above this lie the petahertz and exahertz spectra, which include X-rays and gamma rays. These are types of ionizing radiation, which mean that they carry sufficient energy to break apart molecules and cause significant damage to the human body.
Radiofrequency EMFs (RF-EMFs) include all wavelengths from 30 kilohertz to 300 GHz.
For the general public, exposure to RF-EMFs is mostly from handheld devices, such as cell phones and tablets, as well as from cell phone base stations, medical applications, and TV antennas.
“The most well-established biological effect of RF-EMFs is heating. High doses of RF-EMFs can lead to a rise in the temperature of the exposed tissues, leading to burns and other damage.“

Not to alarm you but there are some serious health risks. The World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has designated this type of EMF as a Class 2B carcinogen. And other research has demonstrated that EMF is genotoxic, which means it can destroy your DNA.
And in 2018, the US National Toxicology Program released the results from a $30 million study finding “clear evidence” that exposure to cell phone radiation increased the incidence of cancer and genetic damage in mice.
Beyond cancer, multiple peer-reviewed scientific studies have also demonstrated that exposure to this type of radiation can result in a wide variety of conditions, including:
- Nausea
- Hair loss
- Swelling
- Low energy
- Appetite loss
- Bone marrow damage
- Depression
- Organs damage
- Confusion
- Incapacitation and death
- Infections
Even if 5G radiation emissions fall within current safety limits (and, to be clear, there is strong evidence that new 5G exposures do not fall within these limits) does not mean that 5G is safe. Despite the fact that 5G is leading to increased exposures to higher energy forms of EMF radiation, there has been no change to the safety standards that govern the technology.
At Tolk Wellness Center, we are dedicated to educating our patients with the latest research and understanding of what’s causing out health issues like migraines, brain fog, insomnia, etc.
Sign up for the educational Zoom online event on June 23, 2020, from 11:30 to 12:30 EST to uncover the truths and myths of 5G technology with Dr. David Tolk and Dr. Tracey Diner. The presentation will be recorded. So please REGISTER HERE to receive a Zoom link invite.
